The most significant changes/improvements in automatic transmission design to date are the number of forward gears transmissions now have and the change from mechanically controlled transmission operations to electronically controlled transmission operations. Mechanically controlled automatic transmissions have reached their limits in terms of future improvements, while electronically controlled automatic transmissions have only scratched the surface of possibilities.
Luxury of the month - August The Rolls-Royce Wraith offers the greatest in luxury and comfort and is targeted for the extremely wealthy. Rear-hinged doors and the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy hood emblem are standard on all models of this striking coupe. Beyond that, customers can add all kinds of personalisation to their chariots, turning their Wraiths into commissioned works of art. For instance, the body panels of this automobile are manually brazed before the seams are meticulously sanded in preparation for painting. That doesn't, however, speak to the quite superb body it has built for this sporty coupé, which manages to infuse just enough energy into Rolls' distinctive style to increase the heart rate—but not enough to raise an eyebrow.
